Medical Benefits are important part of the compensation package which is negotiated in the labor agreement by the union for our members. Medical benefits usually consist of any or all of the following:
- Health Insurance
- Dental Insurance
- Vision Care
How do I get treatment or contact my Medical Benefits provider:
Medical benefits are usually administered in two ways,
- A Teamsters Local 665 health administrator through a trust fund or
- Directly through your employer’s coverage.
Do you know if your Medical Benefits are through the Teamsters or through your employer?
If you do not know who whether your Medical Benefits are administered by the Teamsters or your employer, you will need to obtain a copy of your Collective Bargaining Agreement. If your Medical Coverage is provided by your employer, then you will need to contact your Employer directly and ask them about your medical coverage.
If your Medical Coverage is provided by the Teamsters, then it will be administered through a trust fund. In your Collective Bargaining Agreement under the Health and Welfare Clause, you will find the name of the Trust that handles your Medical Benefits. If you do not know what Trust your Medical Benefits are under, you can contact Teamsters Local 665 to either request a copy of your Collective Bargaining Agreement or just ask them who your Trust is.
