(SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.)  Members of Teamsters Local 665 ratified, by a unanimous vote, a new three-year contract that brings increased wages, benefits, and job protections.

“These brothers and sisters are some of the essential workforce San Francisco depends on to keep traffic and commerce moving in the City”, said Tony Delorio, Secretary-Treasurer of Local 665.

“It is a testament to the improvements in this new Agreement that these members, after review and discussion of the contract changes, voted to approve it by 100%”, Delorio said.

LAZ Teamsters in this classification perform the parking meter collection for some 28,000 metered street spaces throughout the business districts in San Francisco. This task accounts for tens of millions of dollars in annual revenue to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency (SFMTA).

Improvements to this contract include 4% annual wage increases, maintaining the health care package through the life of the Agreement, annual increases to the 401(k) Plan, additional sick leave, and improved holidays.

Additionally, as contracted employees for a city agency, LAZ workers will continue to enjoy retention protections.

“These men and women are out in the elements, every day, every month of the year. It’s a difficult job. They deserve everything they fought for in this new contract”, Delorio said. “Special thanks to Business Agent Michael Thompson for his dedication at the negotiating table.”
