The Facts: An increase in parking tax in San Francisco would cut into parking companies’ bottom line. This would make it harder to preserve good wages paid to the 1200 Teamster 665 members working in the parking industry.
So for many months now, Tony Delorio, Principal Officer of Teamsters Local 665, has been in negotiations with the City of San Francisco to defeat the parking tax increase.
And on February 18th, Teamsters 665 was happy to announce that the tax increase will not go forward.
“The pandemic has hit front line workers in San Francisco hard, and this tax would be a gut punch to these workers’ livelihoods”. Said Delorio. “We’re happy with the outcome, this is as strong win for all of our members in the parking industry”.
