The 2026 Teamsters Industrial Trades Conference, which focused on represented Parking, Rental Car and Laundry members, concluded a series of meetings held the last week of October in New Orleans, Louisiana.
More than 300 Teamsters from across the country took part in strategy sessions and compared the negotiating challenges they face with shared employers in the Industrial Trades sector.
Tony Delorio, IBT parking director, led discussions with Teamster leaders from across the United States. The theme was solidarity among all affiliates representing automotive industry crafts.
“The Industrial Trades Division provides officers and business reps up-to-date information. To maintain winning contracts with the employers we all share, collective strategy sessions strengthen Teamster membership nationwide,” stated Delorio following the close of the conference.
As the IBT Industrial Trades Parking Director, Delorio knows the benefits of comparing notes with fellow leaders.
“With companies new to Teamster representation, they will sometimes omit conditions or terms that other affiliates already enjoy. Open communication through the Industrial Trades Division ensures that all Teamster Locals have timely and accurate information,” Delorio said.
As Principal Officer of Local 665, Delorio acknowledges that Bay Area Teamster wages and benefits are among the best in the United States, but that doesn’t stop him from sharing information that will help lift conditions for Teamsters around the country.
“Contracts at Local 665 address the issue of affordability. Raising the standards for all Teamsters strengthens everyone, from coast to coast. Unity and strength go together. We’re proud of that.”
