The North Bay Labor Council’s annual COPE Dinner on December 15, 2023 included an award to Teamsters Local 665 for excelling in the continuous fight for working people in Marin, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake Counties. The annual award, entitled “Kicking Ass for the Working Class” was presented to Local 665 President Mike Yates for the union’s consistency in standing up for both current members and newly organized bargaining units. “Our Local has a proud history in negotiating the best contracts for our members. That is why new groups of workers are constantly asking how to join,” said President Mike Yates. “We are honored to accept the award this year.” The COPE event was a packed event held at the Plumber’s Union Hall with many local and state elected officials in attendance.
