On Thursday, October 15th, Teamsters Local 665 members participated in a union-wide rally urging voters to vote No on proposition 22. Proposition 22 is sponsored by billionaire investors who promote workplace laws which undermine worker safety and benefit protections. The Teamsters were joined by other unions and elected officials in San Francisco in front of the corporate headquarters of the main sponsor of this anti-union initiative, UBER. Supervisors Ahsha Safai, Rafael Mandelman and Matt Haney joined thousands of unionists in stopping traffic in front of UBER headquarters. Local 665 Officers and Business Agents led a contingent of members urging everyone to vote No on 22.
