On October 28th, mechanics and parts room workers at Transdev Sonoma County Transit unanimously ratified their first collective agreement following a 24-hour voting period to accommodate the around-the-clock operation. The new contract delivers an immediate $5 per hour raise for A-mechanics, with an additional $8–$10 in increases over the five-year term. Workers secured high-quality medical coverage with an 85/15 cost split and a new pension contribution beginning January 1, 2026. “We’ve never seen a raise like this in 28 years,” said bargaining committee member and new shop steward Paul Schuster, noting the improvements will be life-changing for many coworkers.
